Barcelona star a serious doubt for Girona clash

La Liga giants Barcelona could well be forced to make do without the contributions of Marcus Rashford once again in the club’s next outing.

This comes amid the understanding that the Englishman is continuing to struggle with injury.

Frontman Rashford was of course forced to sit out on Thursday evening, as Barcelona were made short work of by Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey.

As much comes owing to a knee issue suffered en route to the Blaugrana’s La Liga victory over Mallorca last weekend.

Rashford has spent the week to date working hard on his recovery, with the aim of returning to matchday duties in Barca’s derby meeting with Girona next Monday.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then as much remains far from certain.

As per a report from Diario AS:

‘His knee is slightly injured. Rashford is sidelined and his participation in the match against Girona is uncertain.’
