Nottingham Forest’s move for Robin Gosens to face big difficulties

Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Robin Gosens appears destined for frustration as the Premier League side attempts a late-window raid for the German wing-back.

According to TuttoMercatoweb, while Forest are expected to make a final effort to bring the 31-year-old to England, the operation is described as very complicated. The primary hurdle lies with the player himself. Gosens has shown no inclination to hand in a transfer request or force an exit from the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The former Inter and Atalanta man is very satisfied with his current situation in Florence, where he feels he is performing at a high level under Paolo Vanoli after a period of struggle. Gosens is not looking to disrupt his momentum with a mid-season move.

Unless there is a dramatic shift in the player’s stance or an undeniable financial offer that forces Fiorentina’s hand, Gosens is expected to remain in Serie A, leaving Nottingham Forest to look elsewhere for left-sided reinforcements.
