Anya Taylor-Joy Takes Center Stage in New Poster

Warner Bros. has released a new poster for George Miller‘s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Starring Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperator Furiosa — a ferocious war captain played by Charlize Theron in 2015 — the upcoming prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road is set to hit theaters in 2024.

The newly released poster comes after the release of the first trailer a few days ago, which saw the titular character fighting against the violent, insane, and brutal villain Dementus (Chris Hemsworth).

The start of Furiosa’s odyssey

Taylor-Joy, who also uploaded the poster through her Instagram page, says that her role will be finding its way back home “with a vengeance.” Chronicling the story of a woman on a dangerous mission, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga — set in an apocalyptic wasteland — will dwell in Furiosa’s past as she finds her way back home after the warlord Dementus kidnapped her from the Green Place of Many Mothers.

The official synopsis for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga reads: “As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Taylor-Joy, who has starred in several high-profile projects, including The Witch, Split, Last Night in Soho, and The Menu, will be starring alongside equally acclaimed actors such as Hemsworth (Thor) and Tom Burke (The Musketeers).

Mad Max: Fury Road stars Nathan Jones and Angus Sampson — who played Rictus Erectus and the Organic Mechanic, respectively — will also return to reprise their roles.
