What is the new Deadpool video game?
Deadpool VR features the “merc with a mouth” in a new, original adventure. Voiced by actor Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), the new virtual reality game lets players step into the tights of Wade Wilson as he fights some familiar faces from X-Men, including Mojo and Lady Deathstrike. Check out the new trailer below.
The last time Deapool had his own video game was in 2013, which was developed by High Moon Studios for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. The game was written by comic book writer Daniel Way and featured the red and black clad mercenary voiced by Nolan North (Uncharted). It also featured fan-favorite X-Men characters like Cable, Wolverine, and Psylocke. It was met with mixed reception when it launched.
This is not the only Marvel video game announcement from this week’s festivities. During the June 2025 PlayStation State of Play, Arc System Works, Marvel Games, and PlayStation revealed Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a new tag fighter featuring fan-favorite characters from the comics. This includes Captain America, Iron Man, Doctor Doom, Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Ghost Rider, and Star-Lord. The new fighting game will launch exclusively for PS5 in 2026.
Outside of Summer Game Fest, there are several other Marvel video game projects on the horizon. This includes Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, the upcoming game from Skydance Games helmed by award-winning writer and director Amy Hennig (Uncharted). After its recent delay, it is slated to release in 2026.
