Flying through Hong Kong and fancy a free upgrade to your holiday? Hong Kong Airlines is offering Aussie passengers travelling between HK and Sydney complimentary access to its Club Autus lounge at Hong Kong International Airport. But here’s the kicker… the free offer is available to all economy class passengers on selected services.
So if you’re travelling to holiday hotspot Japan, for instance (and who isn’t right now?), there’s a good chance you’ll qualify.
To take advantage of this limited-time offer, which is available for travel between 20 June and 31 October 2025, passengers just need to present their first and connecting flight boarding passes to Club Autus staff.
Once inside, travellers can then enjoy complimentary food and beverages, shower facilities and all the other comforts before their next leg.

To qualify, passengers need to be travelling on eligible routes, including but not limited to:
• SYD via HKG to:
- Vancouver (HX80)
- Bali (HX707)
- Tokyo Narita (HX606)
- Osaka Kansai (HX616)
• SYD via HKG from:
- Hangzhou (HX113)
- Shanghai Pudong (HX237)
- Haikou (HX108)
- Sanya (HX162)
- Vancouver (HX81)
- Fukuoka (HX639)
- Kagoshima (HX671)
The offer is available to book via GDS platforms.
So if you’re flying HX, rather than splashing out on a lounge pass or other amenities at HKG, head to the carrier’s swish Club Autus lounge to kick off or cap off your trip in style. And if you enjoy the comfort and convenience, you might even choose to pay for it next time.
Countdown is on

Hong Kong Airlines announced its first Sydney-Hong Kong service in January. The inaugural flight departs on 20 June 2025.
“This is an important milestone for Hong Kong Airlines,” Hong Kong Airlines Chairman Yan Bo said at the announcement.
“In the past, we only operated flights to the Gold Coast and Cairns in Australia, offering passengers access to popular tourist hotspots in Queensland. Now, we are honoured to extend our reach to Sydney, the country’s most iconic city.”
Last week, the full-service carrier unveiled a limited-time exclusive Aussie airfare deal for the travel industry, with return economy class fares for $149 and return business class fares for just $1,499 – plus taxes of around $524.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) recently reported a strong surge in Australian arrivals to HK for the first quarter of 2025, with Aussie visitation to the city-state up 32 per cent year-on-year.
