New 3-day Hong Kong festival coming to Mississauga

A new summer festival in Mississauga celebrates Hong Kong culture and sports.

The Mississauga Hong Kong Festival – World Kong Cup 2025 comes to the city from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre Sportsplex, 5600 Rose Cherry Place.

The festival is “an international sporting and cultural celebration designed to bring together communities through sports, fashion, and Hong Kong culture,” organizers said.

There will be Hong Kong street food, market stalls, live cultural performances, music and lion dances, and classic Hong Kong games and interactive activities.

At the heart of the festival is the World Kong Cup 2025 – a global, seven-a-side soccer tournament. Teams from Canada, the U.S. and beyond are expected to join. The teams will play fast-paced matches with a size four ball, highlighting Hong Kong’s unique football culture.

Teams can enter an open division, over 35 years old, over 45 or over 60 categories.

Other key events include a talent show, soccer jersey design competition and a photo competition.
