Bae Suzy and Kim Woo-Bin are all set to portray the lead pair in the upcoming Netflix K-drama All The Love You Wish For after seven years since they starred in the Korean romance melodrama Uncontrollably Fond. It was a 2016 KBS K-drama that chronicled the emotionally driven love story between actor-singer Shin Joon-Young (Kim Woo-Bin) and documentary producer Noh Eul (Bae Suzy).
The two characters were childhood friends who had to part ways due to an unfortunate event. However, they reunited when Noh Eul was tasked with filming a documentary on Shin Joon-Young. Throughout the series, the two have several heartwarming moments. However, their story ended on a heartbreaking note as Shin Joon-Young passed away due to cancer. He took his last breath while resting his head on Noh Eul’s shoulder.

Towards the end of Uncontrollably Fond, it was revealed that Shin Joon-Young (Kim Woo-Bin) had very little time to live. He had been suffering from cancer. In the finale episode of the K-drama, Joon-Young stormed out of the hospital room of Noh Eul (Bae Suzy) in a fit of anger. After that, he checked her phone, where he found a video of Noh Eul giving an interview for his documentary.
In the video, Noh Eul expressed her grievance that one day, no amount of patience would be enough to win against cruel fate. She then further explained how a day would come when she would not have to wait for Joon-Young anymore. She broke down in tears while giving the interview. After watching the video, Joon-Young also started crying.
Then the final episode of Uncontrollably Fond saw the hospital discharging Noh Eul and Joon-Young taking her out for a walk. They shared a heartfelt moment, but soon, the moment became intense and quite heavy as Joon-Young finally expressed his true feelings about his health condition. He was absolutely heartbroken as he did not want to succumb to his demise at this young age. He was in pain and cried his heart out.
At the end of the finale, Joon-Young accepted his fate and made peace with it. He shared a feel-good romantic moment with Noh Eul. He teased her for taking too many selfies. The two then took a lot of adorable pictures together. However, this peaceful moment did not last long. When the evening arrived, Noh Eul observed that Joon-Young looked quite tired. He then went on to rest his head on Noh Eul’s shoulder and closed his eyes. After some time, Noh Eul realized that Joon-Young had stopped responding.
Joon-Young passed away while leaning on Noh Eul’s shoulder, and No Eul realized that Joon-Young was no more. In a painful moment, No Eul continued to talk to Joon-Young. She told him not to worry about anything and to get rest. While shedding tears, she thanked him and told him she would see him when the morning came. Thus, the K-drama had one of the most heartbreaking endings of all time.
