What iconic horror movies are now available on Paramount+?

As of today, 1980’s Friday the 13th, 1981’s Friday the 13th Part II, 1982’s Friday the 13th Part III, 1984’s Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter, 1985’s Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning, 1986’s Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, 1988’s Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, and 1989’s Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan are now finally available to stream on Paramount+. Out of all the installments in the franchise, the first movie from Sean S. Cunningham remained as the Jason Voorhees movie with the highest rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Crystal Lake’s history of murder doesn’t deter counselors from setting up a summer camp in the woodsy area. Superstitious locals warn against it, but the fresh-faced young people — Jack, Alice, Bill, Marcie, and Ned — pay little heed to the old-timers. Then they find themselves stalked by a brutal killer,” reads the first movie’s synopsis. “As they’re slashed, shot, and stabbed, the counselors struggle to stay alive against a merciless opponent.”

Miller wrote the screenplay for the 1980 movie, which was directed and produced by Cunningham. The movie starred Betsy Palmer, Kevin Bacon, Adrienne King, Harry Crosby, Jeannine Taylor, Laurie Bartram, Ari Lehman and more. In the first installment, Mrs. Voorhees was the first camp killer who was trying to avenge the death of her son, whom she thought had died from drowning. More than four decades after its creation, the Friday the 13th franchise will finally get a TV adaptation at Peacock. The prequel series, Crystal Lake will be led by Linda Cardellini (Scooby-Doo movies, Dead to Me) as Pamela Voorhees.
