Days after its premiere, Blue Eye Samurai remains a sensational addition to the anime-verse. The debut season of this series has already made its place in the hearts of audiences worldwide.
Crafted by Michael Green and Amber Noizumi, the plot revolves around Mizu who is a skilled swordmaster of mixed heritage. The only controversy online is that there are otakus who consider this show not to be an anime due to the fact that it is a Canadian-American action series. Let the controversy and debates sustain, but that should not stop the viewers – otakus or not otakus – from enjoying this series. Rurouni Kenshin
Rurouni Kenshin aka Samurai X is a renowned manga and anime series, created by Nobuhiro Watsuki. It initially graced the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump Magazine and ran from 1994 to 1999. The plot is set in the Meiji Era in Japan, wherein Himura Kenshin, who used to be a political assassin, turns into a pacifist samurai. He roams around, assisting people in need with his exceptional swordsmanship.

Vinland Saga
Based on Makoto Yukimura’s manga of the same name, Vinland Saga is an anime TV adaptation. Shūhei Yabuta directed the series, and it ran for two seasons, from July 2019 to June 2023. Wit Studio and MAPPA produced each season, respectively.
The series revolves around Thorfinn who embarks on a quest for vengeance against his father’s murderer. Later, he undergoes a profound transformation as he grapples with the harsh realities of survival. With its philosophical aspect and impressive action sequence, the otakus showered a lot of love to the series.
Blade of the Immortal
Directed by Kōichi Mashimo, Blade of the Immortal is an anime TV based on a manga by Hiroaki Samura.
It follows the story of Manji, a formidable samurai, who is cursed with immortality. A young girl named Rin enlists him to seek vengeance for her father’s death. The plot thickens further as his mission deeply transforms him in unimaginable ways.

Dororo
Dororo is produced by MAPPA and Tezuka Productions. The latest 2019 series is a re-adaptation of the 1969 series and premiered from January 2019 to June 2019. Though short-lived the show received a lot of love from fans globally.
It is set during Japan’s Warring States period and revolves around Daigo Kagemitsu. In his quest for dominance, he promises to sacrifice his unborn child’s body parts to 48 demons. But, the baby survives and a sage adopts him. He fits his poor adopted son with prosthetics. In his journey, the son grows up and rescues a young thief named Dororo. The story deepens as they confront various monsters and spirits.
Gintama
Gintama aired from April 2006 to October 2018 and was adapted from the Japanese manga series of the same name.
It follows the story of the protagonist Gintoki, who is a rule-defying samurai handyman. He takes any job in order to survive.
