2026 Golden Globes red carpet: Vote for the best and worst dressed celebrities, from Emma Stone to Jennifer Lopez and more

It’s another Golden Globes red carpet for the books, and this year, we’ve seen celebrities wear everything from gunmetal silver to dramatic black ensembles to celebrate the best of film and TV. From Louis Vuitton to Armani Privé, stars were dressed to the nines for the ceremony in Beverly Hills, Calif. on Sunday evening.

Let’s look back at some of the best outfits to grace the 2026 Golden Globe Awards: Between Emma Stone, Teyana Taylor, Minnie Driver, Kate Hudson and Hudson Williams, several celebrities brought their top-notch fashion game. But what about the worst looks? Jennifer Lopez, Timothée Chalamet, Pamela Anderson, Priyanka Chopra Jones and Melissa McCarthy round out our list.

But — it’s not just about us. We’d love to hear your thoughts. Which star do you think was best dressed at the 2026 Golden Globes? And who had the worst look? Vote in our polls, and read more about the outfits from the mentioned celebrities below. Don’t forget to check back on Monday, when we’ll reveal who Yahoo Canada readers think won — and lost — the Golden Globes red carpet.

BEST: Emma Stone

Emma Stone has been a brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton since 2017. The Bugonia actress took a step outside the sartorial box with her custom butter-yellow two-piece ensemble. The midriff-baring look was was bold for Stone, who usually sticks to safe, stylish ensembles. The combination of the crop top with the ornate skirt featuring strands of sequins makes this look one of her best ever.

WORST: Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez’s sheer gown from French designer Jean Louis Scherrer’s 2003 haute couture collection is meant to capture your attention — but it doesn’t quite land as a fashion win in our books. The 56-year-old actress looks incredible, but the colour of the look, along with the hair and makeup, feels more suited for the Las Vegas stage than the Golden Globes.

BEST: Teyana Taylor

What’s not to love about this look from Teyana Taylor? The One Battle After Another star’s black dress was a custom haute couture outfit from Schiaparelli, and it fully exuded glamour with a touch of playfulness. The wrap-around design added a sense of romance to this piece, while the bow-thong-like belt in the back was a fun twist, perfect for a winner (spoiler alert — she took home the first award tonight for best supporting actress).

WORST: Timothée Chalamet

Sorry, but what’s been going on with Timothée Chalamet and his red carpet fashion? As someone whom we recently named as one of the best-dressed Golden Globes celebrities of all time, we’re utterly disappointed by the actor’s outfit this year. While it’s clear he’s been channelling his Marty Supreme character offscreen, this three-piece suit is so pared down we certainly won’t remember it for years to come.

BEST: Minnie Driver

Minnie Driver’s Sabina Bilenko couture gown was, without a doubt, one of the best looks on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet. The 55-year-old actress’s gown featured intricate beading and rhinestones on sheer panels and extended panels, which she accessorized with a classic diamond necklace by Rahaminov Diamonds and silky smooth tresses.

WORST: Pamela Anderson

After a brief stint as a redhead, Pamela Anderson’s blonde locks have made their return. In terms of hair and minimalist makeup, the Canadian actress looked fresh and polished. However, the poor tailoring of her oversized Oscar de la Renta ensemble looked hastily thrown together, and not ideal for the Golden Globes red carpet.

BEST: Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson’s Armani Privé gown was a glamorous addition to this year’s red carpet. The gunmetal-coloured silk gown featured an Art Deco-inspired Swarovski rhinestone embellishment at the neck and strands of crystals that sparkled in the light. The Song Sung Blue nominee opted for understated hair and makeup to let the dress take centre stage.

WORST: Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Sure, Priyanka Chopra Jonas looks stunning in any look — but this red carpet outfit is forgettable and oddly shaped. Arriving at the Golden Globes alongside her husband, Nick Jonas, the Heads of State actress looked like she was wearing a navy strapless gown she pulled off the rack from the Neiman Marcus a few blocks away. Interestingly, the tiered dress was custom-made by Christian Dior.

BEST: Hudson Williams

That’s right — we’re surprised by this Canadian making our best-dressed list too. But in a night full of mediocre red carpet looks, Hudson Williams certainly takes the cake in terms of men’s fashion. Styled by Anastasia Walker (who has worked with the likes of Travis Kelce, Shaboozey and Peso Pluma), the Kamloops, B.C.-born star looked suave in this black-and-white Giorgio Armani suit featuring a cummerbund. Bvlgari jewelry easily completes this Heated Rivalry actor’s outfit.

WORST: Melissa McCarthy

It makes sense that, as a presenter, Melissa McCarthy wouldn’t want to steal the spotlight from the nominees. However, the Spy actress and comedic genius deserves better than this long-sleeved gown with awkward stitching down the front and on the cuffs.

A mediocre, safe red carpet

Selena Gomez, Colman Domingo, Ariana Grande, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Garner — the list of celebrities who are usually stylish goes on. While all these stars showed up to this year’s Golden Globes, it was clear that one theme remained true on the red carpet: mediocre, safe fashion.

Celebrities like Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Julia Roberts and Colman Domingo — all of whom are usually stylish — offered us forgettable Golden Globes red carpet looks this year. (Photo illustration: Yahoo Canada; photos: Getty Images)

It’s not that these A-listers wore bad looks. Everyone looked gorgeous as they entered The Beverly Hilton on Sunday evening. Shades of gunmetal silver and dramatic blacks were apparently all the rage (are these recession indicators?), but where is the fun that we’ve usually seen on the red carpet at past Golden Globes? Julia Roberts, we’re looking at you — have you forgotten that you are the Julia Roberts?

This might only be the start of this year’s awards season, meaning we’ve still got the Grammys, the BAFTAs, the Actor Awards and the Oscars for a chance at red carpet redemption. But make no mistake, we’ll be watching the next time these stars walk the red carpet, and they better bring their fashion A-game.
