首名「搶閘」出生的元旦嬰兒屬何氏夫婦第一胎。二人未有預計兒子會在元旦出生,當初曾考慮剖腹生產,但經醫生鼓勵下嘗試自然生產,對兒子成為今年元旦首名嬰兒感到愕然。

何先生說,在元旦日首度經歷嬰兒出生非常開心,透露妻子預產期原定為1月3日,「咁啱順產出世,當刻主要關心太太情況,希望一切順利,無諗太多,最後啱啱好零時出世。」何先生自言親手剪臍帶感覺震撼,「生BB真係唔簡單,不過暫時未諗到怎樣慰勞她」,希望太太順利康復,兒子快高長大,健康成長。

何太則表示,聽到嬰兒喊聲「好震撼及激動」,由懷胎至終於出世,並意外地在元旦出生來到,自言無法相信,希望兒子健康開心成長,做個勇敢善良的人,為身邊朋友帶來正能量,暫未為兒子改名。她則計劃成為全職母親,用更時間照顧兒子。

另外,於元旦凌晨零時06分在廣華醫院順產出生的男嬰父母胡生胡太指,男嬰是他們的第三胎,原本預產期是兩星期後,胡生笑說「BB好急,急住同我地慶祝2026年」,故提早出生。胡太說,除夕當晚6時許開始陣痛,至晚上10時許已經「好犀利嗰啲痛」,據上一胎經驗,胡太原以為兒子會早一點出生,但最後比想象中遲,「所以剛剛等到元旦(出生)」。胡生說,雖然兒子比預產期早出生,但醫院設備好、醫護人員專業,因此不擔心。

男嬰是胡家第3名小孩,他還有一名6歲哥哥及一名一歲半姐姐,胡太坦言因為夫婦都喜歡小朋友才生3個,懷孕過程雖然辛苦,但見到兒子出生感到很幸福及開心。胡太說暫時還未為兒子改名,會與長輩商討。被問到對兒子期望,胡生說「最緊要BB健康快樂成長,一家人齊齊整整……平安最緊要」,胡太亦說,因為有大兒子的經驗,知道逼小朋友讀書都不是太好,會「放鬆啲、放開啲」,最重要小朋友快樂健康成長。胡生補充,希望政府多關注小朋友、增加資源,讓小朋友有更多資源學習學術以外的東西。

醫管局表示一名女嬰於凌晨零時02分於基督教聯合醫院出生,重3.025公斤,母女平安;一名男嬰於零時06分,在廣華醫院順產出生,重2.89公斤。
