A rare coincidence happened in Hong Kong’ Mark Six lottery on Thursday evening as five out of the seven numbers drawn were exactly the same as that of the previous round.
The numbers drawn on Thursday were 5, 18, 21, 24, 44 and 47, with the extra number being 20. Of the seven, five – 5, 18, 21, 24 and 44 – had also been drawn in the Mark Six Mid-Autumn Festival snowball two days ago.
Internet users expressed their shock soon after the results were out, with some questioning whether it was unprecedented worldwide and its probability.
One unit won the top prize of HK$8 million (US$1.02 million), 1.5 units won the second prize of HK$38,400 while as many as 489 unit s won the third prize of HK$19,200.
In each draw of Mark Six hosted by Hong Kong Jockey Club, seven numbers will be drawn out of 49 numbers.
