MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – It’s almost time for Marquette County celebrities to auction off their art to benefit the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum.
Thursday is the 22nd annual U.P. Children’s Museum Celebrity Art Auction.
More than 20 artists will auction off paintings, sculptures and experiences. On top of that, there will be food, drinks from Everyday Wines and bucket raffles.
Jessica Hanley, U.P. Children’s Museum executive director, says money raised goes back to the Museum.
“Keeping the lights on, keeping the doors open, giving us more programming so that we can get more things for the children to do while they’re in here,” Hanley said. “Helping us to redo exhibits, make updates that we need to do. All the basic parts of it, but every penny that is spent goes straight back into the museum itself; it doesn’t go anywhere else.”
The Celebrity Art Auction is on Thursday at the U.P. Children’s Museum. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
It is free, but you must be 21 or older to attend.
