HDI Global SE Hong Kong, a subsidiary of industrial insurer HDI Global has appointed Michael Ahn as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective November 1st, 2024. Simultaneously, Daniel Lau moves to a new role as Director, Asia Pacific Network. Both the appointments are subject to regulatory approvals.
Ahn is an industry veteran with over 31 years of experience in leadership roles, he is currently Head of Business Solutions Asia Pacific at SCOR. Ahn also has extensive experience in Commercial and Specialty single risk lines and facultative reinsurance.
In the new role, his remit includes driving the strategic growth of the Hong Kong branch office and expanding the portfolio across the region.
Meanwhile, Lau has 20 years of experience as CEO of the Hong Kong branch, and 30 years with the HDI group. As CEO he has built a robust business servicing Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and South Korea insurance markets. As Director of Asia Pacific Network, he will drive growth in International Programmes.
