F1 title fight enters penultimate round, Premier League’s top two clash – Editors’ Picks

On the agenda this weekend are fierce rivals doing battle in the United States and Turkey, title contenders facing off in the Premier League and Serie A, and the penultimate round of the three-horse race for the Formula 1 championship.

Here are the sporting events that Flashscore’s editors will be watching.

Saturday, November 29th

Ohio State vs Michigan – 18:00 CET

Another chapter of one of the biggest rivalries in American sport is being written on Saturday, with the No. 1-ranked college football team the Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0) heading to Ann Arbor to take on their dreaded rival and No. 15-ranked Michigan Wolverines (9-2) to end their regular season.

Michigan have won four straight against Ohio State dating back to 2021, but the Buckeyes have been looking like the runaway favourites for this year’s NCAA Championship, looking to win in back-to-back years.

Ohio State currently have the No. 1 defence in all of college football, allowing an unreal 7.6 points per game this season – none of the other 139 colleges have below a 10.0 – while boasting the No. 12 scoring offence.

Michigan have won all of their games at home this season, but have played only one ranked team prior to this primetime matchup all season long – a loss to No. 18 Oklahoma. Ohio State, on the other hand, have faced two ranked teams (Texas and Illinois), beating them by a combined score 48-23.

It’ll be a chilly one in Michigan, with snow expected, but expect things to get heated on the pitch. Ohio State are 9.5-point favourites with the over-under set at 43.5.

Qatar Grand Prix – 17:00 CET

There are just two rounds left of the 2025 Formula 1 season, and Sunday’s race in Qatar could see a new world champion crowned, or it could set up an absolutely mouthwatering finale.

Thanks to McLaren’s dramatic double disqualification last time out in Las Vegas, Lando Norris heads to the Middle East just 24 points ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri and reigning champion Max Verstappen. With a maximum of 10 points up for grabs in Saturday’s sprint and 25 on Sunday, the title fight is still therefore very much a three-horse race.

That being said, Norris is likely to seal the deal this weekend if he finishes ahead of his two rivals. If he does, he’ll become the first McLaren driver to win the Drivers’ Championship since Lewis Hamilton in 2008, forever establishing himself as one of the team’s greats.

Verstappen won’t relinquish his crown without a fight, though. He may have a slower car than the other two, but when he goes wheel-to-wheel with Norris, he almost always comes out on top, and he’s won the last two editions of this race.

With some fighting talk from Piastri also on show, with the Aussie rubbishing the idea that he lend a hand to teammate Norris instead of going for the title himself before claiming pole position for the sprint race, this could be a classic.

Chelsea vs Arsenal – 17:30 CET

After their 3-1 victory over a then-unbeaten Bayern Munich in midweek showed that Arsenal can be considered the best team in the world right now, they face another huge test this weekend against London rivals Chelsea.

The pair fill the top two places in the Premier League, with the Gunners holding a six-point advantage over the Blues before kick-off. For the sake of the league, many will be interested in the outcome. If Arsenal do pick up all three points, could the title fight be over already?

Over the last four years, the visitors to Stamford Bridge have had the wood over Sunday’s opponents, unbeaten in the last eight encounters. However, Chelsea are also coming into the clash in a confident mood too after a classy 3-0 win over Barcelona in midweek.

The key match-up will be in midfield, where Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo will do battle. It’s an intriguing one, with both players seen as maestros, and whoever gains supremacy will most likely see their side win.

With so much on the line, the game will be watched all over the world, and it’s certainly worth having an eye on.

Roma vs Napoli – 20:45 CET

Sunday has another massive Serie A clash, as AS Roma host Napoli in what promises to be a thriller.

The Giallorossi head into the match as the leaders in a very tight title race at this stage. While few would have expected Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to have started off so well, they have the most wins (9) and fewest goals conceded (6) after 12 rounds. Victory on Thursday in the Europa League made it four wins in a row across all competitions.

Napoli are finding form again, securing wins over Atalanta and Qarabag following the November international break. It has largely been an up-and-down campaign for the Scudetto holders, yet they only sit two points back of their opponents heading into Sunday night’s tilt. They have the third most goals in the league thus far with 19.

The last couple of seasons have seen some close matches between the two. Their last ended 1-1 at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to a 92nd-minute equaliser from Angelino. Napoli did prevail 1-0 at home in the reverse fixture courtesy of a Romelu Lukaku goal against his former employers. Roma’s last win in this fixture came in the 2023/24 season, where goals from Lorenzo Pellegrini and – yes, Lukaku – helped them to a 2-0 victory.

It should be another fascinating fixture on Sunday night, which could play a significant role towards the end of the campaign. If you have no plans before heading to bed, tuning into this clash might be the best choice of the weekend.

Fenerbahce vs Galatasaray – 18:00 CET

One of the fiercest derbies in world football, a titanic title clash between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, is set to take place in Turkey on Monday.

Three-time defending champions Galatasaray have been utterly relentless in the Super Lig over the last few campaigns, pipping Fenerbahce to the title on several occasions. Yet again, they sit at the summit of the table, but with just a one-point lead over their Istanbul rivals.

Galatasaray also have a superb record at Fenerbahce in recent years, winning three of their last four matches at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium. Additionally, in all competitions, home and away, Fener have one win in their last eight games against them.

However, Galatasaray feel more vulnerable this time around. They are in the middle of a torrid injury crisis; several key players in defence are missing, while the status of star man Victor Osimhen and Mario Lemina are unknown ahead of the game.

Couple that with the fact that Fenerbahce are actually the only unbeaten team left in the Super Lig this season, despite sitting second. Their last loss in all competitions came just over two months ago in the Europa League.

Domenico Tedesco, who replaced Jose Mourinho, has Fenerbahce on a good run of form and with plenty of momentum. Can they make a statement and deliver a huge win against Galatasaray, or will the champions prove once again why they are the team to beat?
