Riyadh-based multidisciplinary artist Faris Alosaimi has designed a coffee shop that blends the desert’s heritage materials with modern aesthetics in Hail, Saudi Arabia.

Named Camel Step Coffee Roaster, the 325-square-metre shop is designed to be a unique destination that masterfully combines outstanding specialty coffee with the aesthetics of design.

The roastery has been meticulously recreated to exhibit a harmonious fusion of heritage and modernity, and the shop is housed in a historic building that is abundant with the essence of the past.

A authentic regional touch is added by using natural granite stone from the Hail region, which improves the exterior and interior design

The floors’ distinctive color, created by combining concrete and crushed red granite, improves the space’s visual appeal. With its use of wooden furniture and large windows that let in natural light, the design is elegant and simple, creating a light and airy atmosphere.

Intimacy and coziness are enhanced by the large stone fireplace and the indoor area that is designed to look like an outdoor space.

The roastery, which blends modern design elements with rich local heritage, evokes warmth, comfort, and authenticity, making it the ideal place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee in a warm and inviting setting.

Visitors are greeted by a friendly and welcoming atmosphere as soon as they enter the roastery. The natural stone cladding on the walls adds to the area’s charm and warmth. With light-colored wooden chairs and tables that complement the muted tones of the walls and floors, the furniture is understated yet elegant.

It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a cup of coffee because the large windows are flanked by comfortable red-upholstered sofas. The roastery’s overall design is made more interesting and charming by a section that is meant to resemble an outdoor space.

The natural and rustic atmosphere of this area is further enhanced by the simple wooden chairs and concrete tables. Climbing plants bring a touch of life and nature, and decorative lattices let light and air flow through the walls.

A sizable natural granite stone fireplace gives the space a cozy, inviting feel. Particularly in the winter, the attractively designed fireplace is used to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Throughout the roastery, natural granite stone that is locally sourced from the Hail region is used to provide a genuine local touch. Crushed red granite is mixed into the polished concrete floors, giving the area a distinctive red color that improves its aesthetic appeal and lends warmth and character.
